How does it work?
Glass Indoor Solar Cell (1-cell) – 41x26mm (AMG-1401C), commonly known as Amorphous Silicon Solar Cell (Amorton), is a hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) solar cell for powering a variety of indoor and outdoor applications. The AMG-1401C stands out due to its nearly perfect black-reflective surface, which contributes to a significantly improved efficiency of over 20% compared to conventional models. Built on a glass substrate with a thickness of just 1.1mm, it is capable of generating approximately 8μW/cm² under illumination of 200lux per active area. One of its key advantages is its ability to harvest energy even in low-light and artificial lighting conditions, ensuring sustainable and consistent performance. It is particularly well-suited for devices such as IoT sensors, watches, asset trackers, sensor nodes, and remote controls.
Designed with space optimization in mind, the external dimensions of the AMG-1401C are only marginally larger than the active area itself, allowing for efficient material use in the final application. With dimensions of 41.4×26.1mm, the solar cell can achieve a maximum power output of 77.8μW at 200lux. Additionally, it operates at a voltage of 2.2V, making it compatible with a wide range of power management integrated circuits (ICs) available on the market.
