PT100 3-wire temperature probe is a type of RTD platinum probe used to measure temperatures up to 250°C. This type of probe can be used with RTD click.
RTD sensors are basically thermosensitive resistors – materials that change the resistance depending on their temperature. In this case, the resistor is a small strip of platinum with a resistance of 100Ω at 0°C – that is why it is called PT100.
- Temperature: max. 250⁰ Celsius
- 3-Wire
- Length: 1m (100cm, 3.37 inches)
- Grade: 2B
- Tolerance: 0.5
Why use an RTD type of sensor?
• A wide temperature range
• Precision and accuracy
• Long-term stability
For many years, these type of sensors have been used in industrial and laboratory conditions since they are considered to be more accurate and stable than most NTC/PTC thermistors. Also, platinum is an excellent choice since they are very stable and reusable, and are resistant to corrosion or oxidation.
