How does it work?

LCD IPS 0.87” White Display (ER-OLED0.87-1W) is a high-contrast 0.87-inch graphic OLED display module developed by EastRising, featuring a resolution of 128×32 individual white OLED pixels. Built around the SSD1316 controller, this display supports I2C communication interface. Thanks to the controller’s built-in voltage generation circuitry, the module operates with a single 3.3V power supply, simplifying power design. As an OLED, it emits its own light and therefore does not require a backlight, which not only minimizes power consumption but also enables deep black levels.

The self-emissive nature of the technology also provides a free viewing angle, ensuring excellent visibility from any side. The display delivers a typical brightness of 100cd/m², suitable for use in indoor environments where direct sunlight readability is not a requirement. Physically, the module has an outline dimension of 29 by 8.70 millimeters, with a slim profile of only 1.25 millimeters, making it ideal for compact applications. The active display area measures 21.35mm in width by 5.32mm in height, and each pixel is sized at 0.147mm with a pitch of 0.167mm, resulting in a crisp and clearly defined image.

The display is not equipped with a touch panel and is supplied with a solder-type FPC, designed to be directly soldered onto a PCB without the need for additional connectors. This makes the ER-OLED0.87-1W a reliable, space-saving solution for small-scale graphical user interfaces in portable devices, wearables, instruments, and other embedded applications requiring clear monochrome display output.
